So Delicious! The crunch rolls fell apart super easily so I suggest eating them with a Fork but my goodness the taste is incredible. Presentation was Great, Clean and relaxed atmosphere. Great Staff

Ordered sushi to go not expecting much as the signage was not very good, but the sushi was delicious! Very fresh avocado and nice salmon, good sized rolls. We will come back and eat in next time for sure.

Fantastic food, horrible service. I've been there multiple times and I'm pretty sure there's only one good server there. I've been ignored on multiple occasions, one time a server was literally jogging with food in her hands, the butter knife flew off of the plate and hit the cup of water on my table. It spilled all over my friend and the server apologized but really brushed it off like it was nothing. No discounts or anything to compensate. I'm a server myself... if that happened to me I would have taken care of the customer as best I could to compensate.... not to mention she was serving 2 other tables who came in after us... they ordered AND had their food before our server came around. The food is actually so delicious which keeps me coming back, but the service needs a tune up for sure.

Have eaten here about a dozen times now, and am happy every time. The only thing I don't like is the music that's forced upon the patrons, but the food is great, service good, and portions excellent.

My family and I use to pass though Port Alberni nearly every summer going camping and this stop is always on the list. I've got a major craving for sushi everywhere I go and this always hits the spot before we venture out for the week. The two photos below are my go-to dish (the salmon combo) from 2 years apart and you can see that quality and portion size withstood the test of time. We've been there with groups from 2-10 and they've always accommodated accordingly. Can be a little slow as I've only ever seen 2 servers working at once but for a small town that's acceptable. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone passing through.

BEST sushi ever!

Quite a variety of Japanese foods to choose from. Everything is fresh + cooked perfectly. There is also the opportunity to have halibut fish + chips. I had this + it was delish! The only thing is the restaurant can be a tad chilly in the cooler months.

All that I can say is W.O.W.! I organized my munchkins boardgame club to come and stay at the above motel for a night of gaming. When we went to dine at Sehmi were were amazed. They were so welcoming. They even had hand sanitizer at the door :). The sushi was def top 1 in port alberni, top 3 in alberni valley, top 10 in South Island and top 20 in BC! Will return ASAP.

Absolutely delicious! Had a Cali bento box lunch. Lots of food, lots of variety! The tempura shrimp are amazing. Ate too quick to get a pic. You won't be disappointed!

This is the best sushi for the price I have had on Vancouver Island. I make a point of getting it every time I come through port Alberni. Try it you will not be disappointed 😀

We went for a nice relaxing dinner this evening. There were children everywhere. Not quiet. We changed seats but it was the same. I don't think I've seen so many young kids out at 8:00. I like the new decor but the new lights are far too bright and apparently - no dimmer switch. We've been regulars for many years but we'll step back for awhile and hope for the best.

This is our go to for sushi when we come to Port Alberni. Big menu, prices are right and the service is great. The spicy tuna roll is everything!

Local town favorite. I love their food. I haven't been for a long time as moved out if town. Never disappoints me, food is fresh, and delish.

What a hidden gem. It doesn't look like it from the road, but this is a proper Japanese sushi place. The staff was nice a d the fish quality excellent.

Wow I don't know how others have rated it as 4 or 5 stars!-The bento box had tiny portions of chicken and rice. -On Top of that the sushi was terrible! I couldn't believe I was paying for this!-I would NOT recommend.

Kind of a shady looking building, but the food here is amazing. Been several times while passing through Port Alberni, and the food is always excellent. The only thing preventing 5 stars is the fact that they default to a 20% tip when paying by debit/credit, which I cannot stand.

don't let the fact that it's situated in a roadside motel stop you! the food is fresh, delicious and worth the "risk". quick! fast! friendly service. great tasting Japanese cuisine. a craving satisfied. go for it! you won't be disappointed!

We are traveling around bc and looked for a place to it as it was already 4pm. We doubted a little bit about a place of sushi in the middle of almost anywhere? But oh well turned out to be one of the most delicious sushi and tofu teriyaki I ate ever!!! So delicious fresh and good quality! The place was nice and clean and the staff super helpful, welcoming and nice. Hope i could find a place like this back I Spain!! Super recomended.
